Step 3. Synthesis
Now, after contemplating the artistic representations, decide what is most important about Polyphemus' character.
Retell one of these myths of Polyphemus, but putting in your own phrases and details that reveal how you characterize Polyphemus. Thus, it should be very clear what you are trying to get across. You should either present your myth with a visual representation, or in a vivid storytelling in class. You should provide a written explanation with your story, to include the following points:
1. Which myth have you decided to retell, and why?
2. What is your Polyphemus like? Why did you choose to represent him this way?
3. What was the main idea you wanted express with regard to the myth and Polyphemus?
4. What elements of your visual representation and of your story get across your main idea about Polyphemus?
You may want to use the following rubric to guide your planning for the written explanation. This will be used for its assessment.
